Happenings.

I hate giving talks in church, but I really like my topic of the home as a refuge. I am using some great quotes from Elder Bednar and a BYU devotional talk. Check it out here and here. It's worth it!

Warning! Story about baby poop.

I have started to panic every morning when I hear the tell-tall sounds of Owen filling his diaper. Because I know I am in for an immediate mess! Just the other day I grabbed him from the couch to hurry and change him before he got a poopy back. Well this one was out the front and the sides, so I just hauled him to the tub and changed him in there, rinsed his clothes off and himself.
I think he finds it entertainibg to be hauled off and layed in the tub, but I am not happy with all the dirty clothes!

Here is Kent with his favorite past-time of coyote hunting. He tries to get outside whenever he can. He tells me hunting is our food storage, so he has to get out and practice. (No I would never ever eat disgusting coyote, but we have eaten rabbit, grouse, antelope and deer.)
This is Owen's "I just woke up" face, so no I'm not going to smile.
Finally, I completed my home beautification project. Remember that hike I talked about back when I was six months pregnant? Well I enlarged the pictures from that Palisades hike and modge podged them to canvases for personable wall art!
Now I just need plants around the tv stand to add more texture!

5 months

Stronger and stronger everyday! Owen is using his legs; Kent likes to lean him up against the couch this way. Guess he will start walking and just skip the crawling!

Happy ONE Year Blogiversary to Me!

My very first post has been fulfilled! I blog about my wiggly, happy baby, Owen. We have applied to three nursing schools. I am in the final stretch of MT training. I faithfully check Kelsey and Lance's blog to get updates on Jaeger. Finally, all my sisters are doing great.

I've blogged alot more since Owen's birth and I stay at home. It has been way fun to hear from family and friends that blog. Yeah for life and technology :)

Wedding Countdown, Size Facts and Project!

Kayla entertained Owen while I colored Kaycee's hair for her last night.
Takin' out the red and focusin' on the brown. . . Getting all doll' d up for the big day on Saturday!
Also, I have been really curious as to how long Owen is?
He is 26" long! He has grown 5 inches in about 5 months! That's a whole head's worth! It's blurry because he kept grabbing the camera strap :D
Lastly, I am working on a home beautification project tonight! And no it's not wallpaper ;)

He is growing so fast! Capture it!

Whenever Owen fusses we go to the bathroom mirror and he immediately starts smiling!

No blackmailing with this photo! I just wanted to show that we are going insane with all this snow and we have cabin fever! Actually, Kent and I don't have many pictures together, so here it is.

PRECIOUS! SMILEY FACE BOY! I was trying to take a picture of his hair as it was sticking up after his bath. He decided to cheese it for the camera!

Looks like he is holding the camera himself. How do you get this cutie out of those silly parents in the prevous picture? HaHa!
Here he is in his walker, his feet don't quite touch the ground but he likes to be pushed around in it. Getting so big!

If he looks scared in this movie clip, it's because he is! That crazy squeaker toy! But I love how he looks of at me with his wide eyes and soft, chubby cheeks!

MY PLAN!

This last one looks a little cluttered with the taggie ribbons and cars so I cleared them in the first pic to show how the fabric will look! I totally designed this sensory blanket all myself! It includes soft minky, fuzzy flannel, ric rac and grosgrain ribbon, and buttons! Also putting a layer of batting in, it will all cost under $20. Now cross your fingers it works out!

And here is the layout for the fabric blocks!

The fabrics are Riley Blake fabrics!! I have the button on the left side of my blog under the picture of the week. You can buy any size cut on etsy.com or I am using http://www.flannelqueen.com/ to buy 1/4 yard of all my favorites! I am also thinking of making an activity blanket like this one!

Mickele, that would be awesome if you made something out of the fabric!! Make sure you tell me all about it!

Kelsey is a genius!!

Blanket down and burp rag in hands :) One wake up and two fusses!

The ROLL

I know you can't really see the roll but hey it's kinda fun! The last video was suppose to be first to show the struggle. I think the noises he makes show how hard he is trying!

Maybe it's the winter blahs. . .

but, I am really wanting to make something out of these fun colors and patterns!

I could always make another simple blanket like this lime and blue one that Owen is wearing in the picture, but he has enough blankets. . .

I think this play teepee is a little too advanced for me (okay alot too advanced) but I love it!

So I am thinking of something a little more simple like these fabric blocks with jingle bells in them and ribbon pulls! Whaddya think?

Decorating Owen's half of the room ;)

Even though this board doesn't look particularly masculine (any craft looks more girly) at least it is red, green, and blue and has cars on it.
I plan on making paper cut outs of cars and trucks to match Owen's bedding and put them up on the sides of this board.
It started out as just for fun to use up an old board and then I got a little carried away with the ric rack. haha.
I did burn my fingers on smoking hot glue but oh well!

I can't decide if he likes it!

What do you think? I will keep feeding him a tablespoon at night but I want to know, from the video clip, what you think. He likes it, or he doesn't?

Rice cereal, here he comes!

I went to a class two weeks ago on starting your infant on solid foods. I listened with interest but then we kinda decided that we would wait so Owen didn't develop any allergies and well. . . I guess there are no reasons not to! Owen can sit up with support and most of all he shows interest in our food! I guess you just start with one tablespoon really watered down and once a day after nursing. So I bought some rice cereal and tonight when Kent gets home we will see how Owen likes it! Hopefully he doesn't spit it out like he does his medicine. I plan on taking a movie and posting it for fun!

"Do I taste good?"

"Feed me! FEED ME! FEEEEED MEEE!!!

"UH. . . what is this?"

"I like it!"

Wilson Family Fun

My mom's sister, Maria lives in New York with her husband Mark. They are expecting a baby in June so her sisters planned a baby shower for her. It was fun for me to attend and talk about babies :) We met at a Mexican resturant and everyone loved seeing Owen and Kamilla's baby, Wyatt.
My mom made a rag quilt for Maria's baby and she loved it. It made her cry as you can tell in the picture. She said having a baby is becoming more real for her.

I liked her expression in this pic. She was able to get alot of helpful things such as bath stuff, diaper bag, moby wrap, robe, and more.
Sunday we went to Kamilla's in-law's ward for Wyatt's baby blessing. It was beautful as Wyatt was blessed with physical and mental health as well as the ability to accomplish all of life's goals. Then we had a great luncheon. No pictures as I took Owen back to the hotel as he didn't seem happy. Come to find out Tuesday, he had ear infections, but was still fairly happy.

Monday, my uncle Kason was sealed to his wife, Krystal. Here Kason is with Grandpa Wilson. I love sealing ceramonies and the advice the sealers give. He said he wanted to emphasize two points. To multiply :) and the blessings are conditioned on faithfulness. I really needed to hear that. I am grateful for our baby even though it can be hard and we need to just keep going.

All in all it was a good trip and so fun to see the Wilsons. A big thanks to Kaycee for watching Owen so I could go to the temple!
