Time for a Random Post

Thanksgiving break was way too short but memorable and worthwhile.
Loved how most of the family pics turned out and am chomping at the bit to get them.
Just read a friend's potty training blog posts and am determined to attack this challenge head on. ( She did a timer for every 40 minutes, read on the potty, diapers only at night, m&m reward...)
Can't for the life of me decide what to get people for Christmas, not even Owen....
Been wondering if inhaling spray paint and glue for five months is really as bad as they say...
Seem to be accepting the crappy work/school routine we have and counting my blessings more.
Can't understand why the ward Christmas party got dumped on me a week before hand...
Going through a "reading spurt." Can't get enough of random LDS romance books, which I know some people think are so cheesy, but I really like the spiritual stuff woven into the star crossed love life :)
Need. More. Recipe. Ideas. Will. Not. Eat. Lasagna. Again.
Seriously torn between the ease of putting long hair in a pony tail and the refreshing A-line cut.
Wanting to make our own nativity scene, seeing as how we don't have one.
Love Kortney's blog. Actually ALL my sister's blogs, wish they would post every day, but then I would have to too and we all know that that is a laugh.
The End.

Owen turns Two

We are so glad we got to celebrate Owen's second birthday with as much family as possible! My mom and dad suprised us with a visit and we decided to throw together a BBQ and celebrate! My 2 aunts (my mom's sisters) that live in Boise were able to come (with thier sons) and it made it that much more awesome! We would have been crushed if Kelsey and Jaeger couldn't come because we love them! Owen walks around and alternates between saying "Jaeger play" and "Kassy come" (he calls both my sisters Kassidy and Kennadee, "Kassy") We sure missed Kim and my other far away sisters, but you do what you can and it was fun!

Wish the goobers were smiling but glad to have the pic and have a fabulous photographer, Kelsey, whose pics are way better! Thank you! Thank you!

I like this photo!

The aunties!

I really wanted to bake a car cake and ice it because Owen is obsessed, obsessed I tell you, with Cars and Mater in paticular. But this one turned out alright. I think Owen's obsession is cute. Kent thinks it is ridiculous, haha.

Parties are fun! Let's plan many more!

Aunt Kamilla! Love her! We were roomies in college for a semester and I have always admired her! We need to do more craft nights!

Fav pic! Our cutie pie! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, OWEN!!!!

Here is everything Owen loves! I printed this pic out and Owen has packed it around for two days! Jaeger, cake, Mater, and balloons! :)
Fun tools and trucks for the birthday boy! Thank you!

Fall clothes!

Great afternoon! Let's do it again, soon!

Happy

Life is sure busy but I really wanted to document a fun evening out we had last night. I worked all day yesterday while Kent took Owen outside exploring. When we all got home we decided to go out to dinner. Owen kept hugging me and Kent was excitedly telling me all the adventures of the day. The waiter came and asked us what we would like to drink. Kent ordered pop and I ordered a pina colada and the waiter asked, "what about the little guy?" I said, "oh, he's fine." But then, Owen looked right at the waiter and adamently said , Water! We laughed and Owen got his water. Then the waiter brought the drinks and took our order. Owen stood up and again looked right at the guy and said, Thank you! We laughed again. Owen is so stinkin cute! Kent asked Owen if he saw his friend, Paige today and what was she watching? Cars, he said! I can't believe how grown up he is getting, he is really putting two and two together (no pun intended)! We use to have to coax him and he would just repeat what we said, but he sure is understanding a whole lot more now. He will be two on Monday and I was looking through some older pictures and decided to post a collage of ones I hadn't posted before.

Washington, Baby!

Kent's brother and sister-in-law had thier baby on Saturday! Little Lily May Stringham came four weeks early and weighes just under 5 lbs. She was so fun to hold and never made a peep the whole day. Owen gave Lily kisses and held her so sweet!

While the big boys went hunting, Owen and I scouted around the garden. The Stringhams have lots of different colored roses that were all in bloom for the little sniffer.

Watering the moo cows and chickens.

Watering himself.

Washing a carrot from the garden's abundance!

Picking grapes, Owen's favorite fruit, and stuffing them all in his mouth!

Grandma gave owen a bowl of baby strawberries and put on Disney cassettes for Owen to be spoiled with! He is also sporting his new birthday outfit from Grandma-a rarrr! shirt and camo pants!

A short but sweet trip to see our new niece! Thanks Stringham family!

B & B

So the stars aligned and four family members had work off so we headed up to Dixie for a two and a half day trip to cram in Boating and a Baby Shower!! The drive was a breeze as Kent and I talked and Owen played with Clyde who nevers whines, actually neither really do. It is a three and a half hour drive and we made it to Washington by noon. Kent's family were all waiting and ready for us to hop in and go boating! The wind was whipping as you can see but it died down and the water wasn't too bad.

Owen seemed a little nervous and just wanted to stay in the boat being held by whom ever would. He wriggled out of the life jacket until we tightened it up real well.

Kent's sister Katy (Eric was at work and my sister-in-law, Kami, is in Utah; we missed them!)

Grandma Teresa with Owen. Kent's whole family loves the water but especially his mom, she swam with Kent after tubing even though it was cold and no one else wanted to.

Owen was the official flag waver whenever someone was down.

Which . Happened. Alot.

Actually Owen loves sticks and he calls them "gicks."

My father-in-law convinced me that I just had to go on the tube and I only went because I got a promise out of him that he wouldn't flip me out of the tube :) But I was still so nervous, I didn't want to hurt myself or pop my contacts out or choke on water...I'm a real dare-devil type. Kent was even saying how he didn't want to hurt himself, guess havin a family and responsibility mellows you out and all.

But I totally hammed it up screaming the whole time and asking Katy which way to turn so I wouldn't fall off. I refused to jump out when our turn was over, so the boys hauled me in from the tube, haha.

Bec and I kept saying how fun it was that the brothers were on the tube and that they are so close in age and do stuff together all the time. Then Kent kept giving the thumbs up and Kraig gave the thumbs down and they.........................

Biffed it!!! Then Katy and Kraig went and Katy landed on Kraig and bruised her back and Kraig ripped his shoulder bad and they were whining. And Teresa was saying Bryant was a meanie and Bryant was saying he only went 30 and everyone was talking all at once and then, then Kent MADE me go with him and I thought this is it, Kent's gonna kick me in the head when we flip and I don't even know why I am on here! haha

The dramatic anticipation!

It was fine and we flipped but I hung on to the tube and didn't pop my contacts out and didn't get kicked and the water was warm and after it all it was kinda sorta maybe fun. Bec and Kraig are having a baby girl next month so we all got together at her mom's house and they made delicious food and I did the invites, decorations and games and I think she was happy.

She got the cutest stuff and in this pic she is holding little red booties her cousin crocheted. Owen was the helper playing with everything. We are so excited for them and little Lily May to get here!

Weekend Drive ~ Perfect!

We drove to a new part of the valley; Weiser-Robinson's Creek.
Owen loved all the animals: cows, horses, birds, and DEER! He kept saying moo, moo. Hi horseys! Come mere! And of course he loved the ice cream!

Handlebar Mustache :)
