Its a Boy!

This picture is at 21 weeks, right after the "fetal survey."

I don't know what is going on with my hair but Owen's face is priceless.

I loved seeing the ultrasound. Especially the heart beating with all the chambers. The tech pointed out the stomach, kidney, regions of the brains, the big and little bones in the arms and legs, eye sockets and umbilical cord. Amazing.
We took Owen with us to the appointment and he was very good (because he wanted a gumball) but we pointed out features to him on the screen and he smiled. He thought it was a girl the day before, so when we found out the gender and told him. He kept saying, "Now its a boy! He can't have my stuff but we will play outside together and be friends."

Aunt Kami comes to Visit

Kami and Danny met each other halfway at our house and we went out for pizza and bowling.
Owen was so excited for his green ball and to throw it down the aisle. It was alot more fun for him with the ramp and bumpers, although he took some of my turns to to watch it roll down the gutter.
Meridian has a brand new entertainment place that was packed with bowlers downstairs and kids at the arcades upstairs. Owen played about seven games, got tickets, and cashed in for candy and a parachute guy, He was definetly in heaven.
These two are so cute together and we are so excited for them! They adore Owen and he still talks about his friends, Kami and Danny, all the time.

Snow Play

1.11.13
This week Owen kept asking to go swimming. Yes. Swimming. Outside. In his kiddie pool. I patiently reminded him that it was cold and snowy outside but that we could go SLEDDING!
Do you know how hard it is to find winter stuff, in the middle of winter? Hard!
Luckily, we found one last sled at Kmart. No such luck with the snow pants. The above picture is of Owen in his 6-12 month snow pants. At least it protects his bum, right!
Best Dad ever.

Its always a party all around when we get to go to the Peterson's house to play. I get to gab Kelsey's head off while Owen plays with his best friend. Kent gets to enjoy the wilds of Oregon with his buddy Lance. This time around they went duck and goose hunting.

A Month of Firsts

1.6.13

First day of Primary. Sent him to class with a new haircut and a "Jesus book." We taught him the sunbeam song and he came home singing I am a Child of God. Kent insisted on this picture. We love you, Owen!
Owen: "that was really great for me."
Mom: "primary was great?"
Owen: "a huh. I want to watch the primary movie."
Mom: "oh the one you gor from your teacher? It's music."
Owen: "I will sing it for you!"
Mom: "Aww! Okay!"

Kim's time with us was short and sweet, but we visited her house for a couple of parties and had her over to play! This time around, Aunt Kim had a play date with Owen while Mom and Dad made it to the temple!

1.10.13
Owen had a run in with a cashew from CostCo's trail mix sample. He immediately choked and scraped at his mouth. His eyes swelled up and he had welts everywhere. My poor baby! After Benadryl, a bath and a call to the nurse he finally went to sleep. He has had swelling and welts before from playing in the grass with shorts on but this one was scary because of it affecting his throat and the coughing. I am kinda worried about his allergies because he will also get red welts when he loves on Grandma's dog too much. I have sensitive skin and cant wear metals, so he probably got it from me. We are planning on taking him into an immunoligist next month to do the allergy testing. (Thanks Becca for the advice!)
