I do care how my baby looks. . .
But its not my fault he poops all over his matching pants. haha
I grabbed a pair of socks and quickly unrolled them and put them on Owen's feet. It took me a minute to realize the design was ballet slippers. hilarious!

They say trumpetter swan on the bottom and the best part is he kept kicking his legs out and pointing his toes!
Kent laughed out loud when he came home a moment later. then he told me to take them off. haha.
Tomorrow Owen is FOUR MONTHS!

i have no arms.
right now i am pecking at the computer.
i am holding owen.
my baby has been sick this week.
it started monday night with him tossing and turning in his sleep, but he woke up cheerful and smiley, sporting a snot nose. he had no trouble with me using the booger sucker, i think it was entertaining to him. tuesday and wednesday he was snotty and felt warm both evenings so he got a couple of doses of tylenol then. still smiley, i told him he has a very good personality because when asleep and sick he snarked and tossed and grunted but when awake he chose to be smiley.he seemed better thursday. then friday morning he wailed and arched his back and had lots of gas. i laid him on his stomach and patted him hard for a half hour which seemed to help. he wouldnt nurse but luckily takes a bottle so thats when i decided maybe it was something i ate that didnt settle well in his stomach (akk my arm is killing me pecking away, kelsey how do you document so well, breaktime.) okay so i realized i had shrimp the night before, shellfish no good? because he would not nurse just cry but then take a bottle then after carrying him around forever he fell asleep and woke up happy and entertained himself without being held. whew, i thought its over. no such thing. fever. mild but fever. kent called up aunt susan the nurse and she gave us some advice. motrin. watch for pull at ears. as long as eating n wet diaps. next morning smiling so kayla agreed to watch owen so we could go to the temple as we had been trying all week since sunday i finally had my recommend renewed. honestly we hadnt gone since before owen was born. it was very much needed. so owen was good all afternoon and evening then at about 9 he starts wailing and getting really hot, second dose of tylenol for the day but not helping, i soothe him to sleep but it only lasts a half hour he wakes wailing. talking to kent we decide his fever is higher, he still won't nurse (less appetite), and its been five days.
so we take him to the ER. in case of earache or sore throat.
One positive thing we find out he weighs 15 lbs. 15 oz.
so he cries he has a temp of about 102, they suck his buggers to check for RSV and we wait a half hour (mind you we havent eaten since noon so we are both crabby about the wait).
luckily his ears and nose are okay and influenza and RSV test are negative. a cold most likely they say and often tylenol doesn't kick the fever. motrin is the key. they gave him some at the beginning and his temp came down by the end. alternate the two they say. so 1130 and everything is closed. but owen is asleep in his carseat. home. eat. sleep.
sit at computer with one arm free.
so i have had no arms this week to post my fun pics but those will come! as owen is not screaming right now but i think i will go see about him getting some motrin now.

here is the sweety right now!

Christmas Part II
The week before Christmas most all my sisters got together to decorate sugar cookies! It was so much fun with Christmas music and tons of decorating tools. Everyone loved playing with Owen and I even helped Owen frost a sugar cookie ;)
Then the week after Christmas when we got back from Washington, we had a Barnes family day with a delicious dinner, presents and games. My parents and sisters were so thoughtful with thier gifts and everyone was happy to have all seventeen of us together!

The Christmas Story
Well, on Tuesday the 22nd we headed out to Walla Walla, Washington to spend Christmas with Kent's family. Owen did super on the drive and had tons of fun being held my his Stringham family as he smiled and talked to everyone. Owen only had two power naps on Christmas Eve day because of all the excitement so Christmas morning we finally woke him up last so that we could take a few pictures and open his presents. Here he is bright eyes, a little disoriented and spoiled.
Kent and I got each other a suprise present.
