What a cutie baby! So much fun and so rewarding to care for our little guy. 9 months today !
We found him a fishing vest with all the pockets and netting so he can look like his daddy! (Cute sandals too)

Owen at nine months:
-pulling himself up from sitting to standing
-loves to drink from a big person cup
-sticking his hand in his mouth and choking all the time
-still not sleeping through the night
-smiles his head off at everyone and laughs
-very ticklish in the neck, sides, and feet
-most likely going to fight being weaned to a bottle and food
-crawling into every room
-loves, loves to open drawers over and over agan

What I've been up to!

One of the few posts that doesn't center around Owen (can you believe it??). Although tomorrow is his nine month mark and I've got some adorable pictures!!!
Kelsey and I picked out some fabric and ribbons to make these baby shower gifts for some friends having girls! Really easy diaper and wipe bags and then we used the scraps to make a taggie toy! These are perfect to keep your diaper bag oraganized and grab what you need when at church or on the go. Each set cost only $5 to make! Sweet! I just pulled the construction from a bag I already had! Turned out pretty good, eh Kelsey?!
Made some boy ones with Kayla yesterday, so fun!!

Okay, I have always loved reading but have been out of it for a while with a child and school work. Earlier this year I read Suzanne Collins books --Hunger Games and Catching Fire (maybe you can review those Kels!) Recently, though I have loved Shannon Hale's books!! Especially, Book of a Thousand Days. She is LDS which lends to clean, fun books but they also fall under the category of Fantasy. I never really got into Harry Potter or the goblins and wizards, but this fantasy is different. Here is what Shannon herself has to say, "As a reader, I've never been very interested in the kind of magic where someone waves a wand, leaving me ignorant of why it works or how it's done. As a writer, it was important to me to create a magic system that I believed might be possible and that I could get inside of and understand." (Just read the books!)
One of her adult fiction books is not fantasy but very everyday told in a fascinating way. Really makes you think and appreciate life! Another thing I love about her books is the perfect and satisfying endings! Then I read an interview where she said, " I think I can write books that both kids and adults enjoy. I've been told my style of narrative moves the story along and makes it easy to keep reading. I love trying to find just the right words, just the right way to say something. Endings are very important to me, and I hope I make satisfying ones. "

I love Albertson's now that I have learned the key to shopping there from the Krazy Coupon Lady. Every other week the store has a big promo which usually involves buying a certain dollar amount of select products and receiving money back for your next purchase. So sale plus promo plus coupons plus double your coupons equals $37 saved! All for $9!!

Then June is dairy month--buy five items and recieve $5 back so a savings of a $1 off every item plus coupon discounts!! All for $3.50!!

And then Walgreens has awesome deals one of which is buy the item then get a money coupon for the exact amount you paid (to use on anything) making the product free! For example, the contact solution was on sale for 7.49 each and I had a $2 coupon off so I paid 5. 49 and got a money coupon for $7.50 actually making money off each and getting it free! Register rewards gotta love 'em (Last month I got free shampoo, shave gel and toilet paper!)

Zoo-dee-doo

I made this myself! Looks like a post card, haha. Yeah me! So Melaleuca, the company Kent works for had free tickets to the zoo last Saturday. But Kent had to work so I roped my Mom and Kayla into coming. To make it even crazier we woke early to check out some garage sales in IF. It was fun and I got 16 cute clothing items for Owen, all for about $6 !!

My mom loved showing Owen everything and making the animal sounds herself.

Owen was only interested in the things he could see close up, like these monkeys who perched in the window sill.

Kayla is so cute and helpful and she is going to be a great mommy! She came even though she was feeling nause-ish! Thanks Kayla!

It only took us about an hour and a half but it was fun and memorable and hot!

Yeah for something new to do!

Happy Father's Day

What a good thing it is to recognize how important family is and the roles they play! Kent is my best friend and always tells Owen that he loves him and they chill out in the chair together often as buddies. We plan to go fishing on Monday so Kent can break in his gift of new chest wadders.

We made Kent's dad this card and poster for Father's Day. It was Kent's idea to make something his Dad could stick in his locker at work to remind him he's a grandpa (cause I guess every one else has pictures up but him).

My Dad always calls Owen his buddy and tickles him; they're friends. We all pitched in to get Dad somethin' grand! This pic and video is mostly for all the sisters that are away.

My Dad hates suprises, but I guess it was worth it, eh?!

Horse-Shoe Lake Day 2

Checkin' to see if he got a bite :) He is not really out on the water, just posing. Today we went with Kraig and Becca to Horse-Shoe Lake and rented a canoe! Fun!
The first fish of the day, caught by Kent out on the water and captured by me :)

Our little strappy invention didn't work too well.

Marshmellow moustache! My favorite part and I wanted to share it with O.
Bec is a pretty good fisherwoman, herself. But I tied with Kraig for the longest one!
Brothers, out on the canoe! We had the lake to ourselves for most the day, crazy since it was free fishing day and all.
Goof balls! Then we all went home and fried up the fish with some good old corn on the cob and watermelon!

Our Family at Horse-Shoe Lake

Beautiful, lazy lake. Just soaking it in :)

Kent pretty much outfishes everybody because he is so determined and uses his noggin to know what lures to use!
Startin' em young.
Pals!

Not my best picture, but hey, Owen is smiling. (Oh Kent says best day ever.)

Here is Owen with his craZEY hair! Little wispy wingers out the side and a fluff top! Love it! Below is evidence if his curly mohawk and super light, but there, hair!

Splash Park

The sunshine was a little too much for Owen so we just touched the water instead of sitting out in it.

The swing was his favorite. He laughed and kicked.

This is Owen's new thing. He sucks in the inside of his lips and holds them this way. Silly!

TIME TO GO HOME!
