Countdown!

No more how-far-along posts, its time to countdown the days until Owen arrives :) So 5 weeks give or take.

All this last week the baby has been hiccuping every day and almost every night, so we thought we pretty much knew where the head was-the left side. (It's funny because I told Kent the baby is already keeping me up at night and it was such persistant thumps that I got up and tried to burp him ;) by walking back and forth rubbing my tummy!) Well come to find out at my appointment last week the doctor recorded the baby as turned, this is what the nurse told me today on the phone when I asked about an ultrasound. She said I was so far along that the ultrasound was pointless.

So when I asked the doctor what the difference between turned and dropped was he said the baby is head down and even though I have to go to the bathroom all the time now, I haven't dropped. Anyway, he did an ultrasound and he said it's for sure a boy and he is still head down. The hiccups are just the diaphram involuntarily contacting as the baby practices breathing. This past week I have felt alot of changes and I definitely feel big and ready!

Neah Bay, Teton National Park, and Huckleberries

We picked huckleberries today! So juicy and Kent juiced them up with sugar and cinnamon in a hot pot and then we used the filling in Kent's flaky turnover dough.

The other day we drove up to Teton National Park near Jackson on their free entrance fee day.

Gorgeous peaks that we can see from Rexburg on clear days, now we've seen them up close. It was a fun drive.

All last week Kent was gone on his family's annual halibut fishing trip to Neah bay, Washington. It is the northwest tip of Washington and they fish up in Canadian waters. He has gone every year since he was 10! They also caught alot of salmon this year too and crab. I went last year, but not this year because its a two day drive!

Now our freezer is full of fish--the excellent kind of fish--the kind of fish that sells at Broulim's for $10 an inch---no lie.

This halibut is fresh and moist and excellent! Good omega-3's too :)

Transcription Training--all I do these days

My cousin Mickele asked me how my medical transcription training is going and my answer was so long that I deleted it and decided to make a new post. (Mickele does medical transcription.) Becoming certified and employed is my number one goal right now (besides my number one priority of getting our baby here healthy).

So the program I am doing is very in-depth I have decided. I have had lessons and quizzes on everything from grammar and typing tests to anatomy and medical word building. I am still working as a secretary at BYU-I and in between calls and solving customer problems I work on the lessons all day!

After some pharmacology and document formatting lessons, I will do about 300 hours of clinicals or real work. I will transcribe audio files of doctors reports and recieve feedback as I improve my accuracy, speed, and research skills. These excercises will prepare me for the final and then the employers' tests.

I'd like to finish by the end of September and then have a week or two with the baby while filing out applications. Hopefully I will work part time or four hours a day(during the baby's naps).
Wow Mickele, I think this post is way technical and boring. But tell me did your course include anatomy and physiology and pharmacology?

Kelsey's Baby Shower

Sneak Peak

Kelsey is over here in Idaho for the week and I don't think she will check her blog till after her baby shower this Thursday. But I just had to "journal" this post because I am so excited that I taught myself how to make this diaper cake without any research! I used rubber bands and tape, so she can use everything! This is the gift that Kimberly, Kaycee, and I gave her!

7 months!

7 months today and four more pounds this month. Everything is looking good. Hearbeat has slowed from 155 bpm to 141 bpm (not that I know what that means but maybe that his heart and lungs are more developed?) I took the gestational diabetes drink the hour before my doctors appointment and then fell asleep and was twenty minutes late. But the doctor hasn't called back with high blood sugar readings or whatever so the test wasn't too messed up although I had a sugar headache on the drive their and thought great, something is wrong with my insulin. And now I have appointments every two weeks instead of every month! I am super excited. Of course he is kicking more and more and rolling and reaching out into my ribs. I haven't studied anything about birthing or breathing and I don't want to to take the 55 dollar birthing class with Kent. I would much rather just read about it. Or something.

So we have decided on the name Owen Daniel Stringam. Perfect, huh.

And I substantially look more pregnant in this months picture compared to last months picture.

Maria and Mark's Ceremony

This is my aunt Maria, she is my mom's sister and I think they look alot alike. She and her husband live in New York. They planned the day of August 1st for a renewal of their vows among family and friends.

I really appreciated the words that Mark's dad spoke as he officiated? the ceremony. He included many of the paragraphs from the Family Proclamation and he spoke about how much they love and support each other.

Kassidy and Kennadee were two of the flower girls. I love this pic because Kassidy is talking about how itchy it is under her arms ;)

This picture is actually a reflection of Mark and Maria in the big mirror that was behind the singers. I'd say it captures the moment.

The room was silent and then Aurie's sweet voice rang out into the room and I hurried and turned on my camera to capture the rest of her song. Her dad, Travis, is playing the piano and I really think this number was my favorite part!

A great day, cramped vehicle and long weekend, but over all great!
