      Blessed

I really want to journal and then print out my blog book, so here it goes. The main reason we moved to the Boise area was so that Kent could get into the nursing program at a nice Idaho community college. CWI's nursing deadline was March 15th and we started working on the application process in January. Then we kinda got caught up in everything else and the deadline came fast. The last thing Kent needed was to pass a computer skills test and submit the results. No big deal, right? WRONG! Super hard test that talked about RAMS and data storage, blah blah blah. So he only was able to do one section and stress about the others while trying to study random bits, anyway we decided that he wasn't going to spend five hours in the testing center on stuff he didn't know and that the deadline would pass and we would look at other schools. We kinda got discouraged last weekend and couldn't understand why everything fell into place to move out here....until Thursday Kent was logging onto the CWI website and it said the nursing application deadline is extended untill April 1st! Who does that? What school changes an admission date that has been set at least a year in advance and gets hundreds of applicants!!?!! It is a miracle I tell you! So Kent has been studying all about Excel and Outlook and random computer info, while we cross our fingers that he passes the test on Thursday. Crazy, blessed! We are also blessed in the job area, that is what I keep telling myself, cause I am working everyday instead of M, W, F only. I really miss getting things done at home and being with Owen, but Kent is doing such a great job and really bonding with Owen and I know it is only temporary. Kent said the other day that he doesn't even mind changing Owen's diapers and he has been teaching him new words like tissue and eyes... Kent is half way through the CNA program and doing well in his two online classes. Clyde is a really good dog and we have fun all being outside. I feel bad that we don't make a lot of time for family, but we are still trying to get into the swing of things and work out a schedule to get everything done.

A little slice of stringham life

Okay, so yesterday I gave Owen one of those biter biscuits because Kelsey said Jaeger gummed on one and made a mess (which is cute and entertaining I'm sure) and because Kent's aunt gave Owen a graham cracker and he liked it. Then, I look away for like two seconds and the child is gagging because he tried to stuff the whole entire biscuit in his mouth! I pick him up and start patting his back and out comes milk from his nose and mouth and a hunk of biscuit. Yeah so he barfed cause he gagged. Scare me to death! Guess we won't try that again for a while!

Also yesterday we went to dinner and a movie, so nice! Gotta love date nights out on the town instead of driving each other crazy in the house. Kent fished while Owen and I chilled in the car then we stepped outside to see the fish jump and hear the water roar over the fall, Owen was fascinated. Then we drove down the road to our favorite little diner, Frostop, and had burgers, fries, and the best root beer ever! Everyone googled over our adorable and smiley baby (including Kent). Then later Kayla and Aaron, our lifesavers, watched Owen and we went and saw Avatar. We really liked it and then it was so funny because Kent went home and googled it to see if the guy really was in a wheelchair and then he watched the trailer 3 times. haha

Then on Monday, my friend Amanda came over and we figured out my sewing machine and I started sewing my skirt and the thing runs as smooth as anything and the stitches look so great! Only problem is my waist is bigger than my hips (or so it seems, sad day) and the dress sides poke way out, so I will have to taylor it down.

The weekend was great, Kent's parents and his sister Kami (who graduated also) came to Rexburg and we hung out and talked Thursday night. Then Friday while all the boys went shooting, the girls went to town to window shop then we all met up to eat graduation celebration dinner together. Saturday we had to be to the gym at 8 a.m. and it was a long sit during the commencement speakers. Then Kami's convocation was next (Kent decided not to walk because it was at the same time as Kami's) and by this time Owen had fallen asleep in Grandpa's arms, so cute. At the end when everyone clapped it startled Owen so bad from his sleep, oh man. Then we went to the BYUI sign and took turns wearing the grad cap for pictures. Then , then we beat the crowds by heading to IF to eat dinner at the buffet and crash back at aunt Susan's to watch a movie and nap. Fun, fun

Well, next up is Kraig and Becca's wedding on the 17th, not looking forward to driving all day Friday and then turn around and drive all day Sunday. But, I AM looking forward to being in the Columbia River Temple and witnessing the ceremony! Also looking forward to seeing the Peterson family!

      Big Boy Shoes

Owen is just growing and developing at a rapid rate! He puts his weight on his feet all the time. I remembered these adorable shoes he has and so I put them on mostly for a picture, seeing as how he grows out of everything so fast! (He is also slobbering alot)

Well, this will be a busy semester for Kent, he has to work twenty hours a week, unpaid for his internship at Madison Memorial Hospital. He is also taking four other classess and working at Meleleuca part-time! Whew. Next week we will start applying for nursing schools-four of them. Kent knows my feelings about wanting to end up in Caldwell by Kelsey, Kamilla, and Cara. We will see ;) I am still hacking away at the gazillion MT terms in preparation for the certification exam (it's actually getting a bit overwhelming, like I'm never going to finish!). I am already looking forward to the party in February when Kaycee gets married!

      Need those email addresses!

I think I will be more comfortable with this blog being private as I record more and more details--making it into a family journal instead of a news bulletin. But, I love the little group of people that make comments and want you all to be able to see pictures and details of our family so send me your email addresses.

      Events coming up:

      Family Pictures
      Baby Shower
      Baby Blessing

I'm really excited for the professional family and newborn pics this coming Tuesday, so stay tuned.

Oh, and Kamilla, my email is kambriajo@gmail.com -- I would love to still be able to read your blog!
