Joel's Blessing Day

Joel has brought so much happiness to our little family. With how stressed Kent and I are with our responsibilities, this little guy makes us smile and wonder at his perfectness every day. He is a good baby and slept all weekend.
Joel was blessed Sunday the 14th of July by his Dad. In the blessing he was reminded of how much he is loved and of the temple covenant he was born into. He was encouraged to live his life and make choices that would enable him to take upon himself that same covenant.
It was a hot day but everyone was so happy to help and be apart of the event that it happened without trouble and was a peaceful day.

Saturday fun with family made Owen a bit tired and grumpy and the sun must of wore out Joel! Kent was able to go cat fishing with his best brother, Kraig. Beccah and I took the littles to the Peterson's stomping grounds to play outside. Lily was so fun to chase around and Lacie was wide eyed and her cute tiny self. Loved talking with all my girls: mom, Kels, and Beccah! thanks for making the drive out!
Kent's parents and great grandparents came. His brother and sister and their families too. My mom and dad and the younger girls came as well as the Peterson's being present. My two aunts on my mom's side, Alena and Kamilla came with their families! What a treat!

Inch by Inch

Let's see, I work from home. Yes, I do. Kent is my right hand help; anything from disassembling to sanding to running packages to the post office. My mom works at home with the shop too; she does almost half the orders and she is crazy good. I spend a lot of time communicating with customers for custom orders or inquires. I spend a lot of time shopping for supplies and drag my kids with me. It's getting really old as far as time well spent. If it was only a couple of hours a day when the kids were asleep at night or nap time or even part time; I'd smile and be so grateful. But it's not.
It consumes me and distracts me and makes me impatient as a mother. Sad, but true. We still try to get to the park or snuggle for naps but nothing like I want. I really want to make moon sand with Owen. I really want to have a play date with other moms in the ward. I really want to clean my house and eat actual meals not snacks, not fast food. I am sure I need to snap out of my bad attitude and be grateful, ever so grateful for an income. Grateful Kent is finished with school. Happy he took his national exam Wednesday. Happy to just work together and wait for the results at the end of the month.
You know, there has been one line running through my head this summer. "Life is hard by the yard. But by the inch it's a cinch!"
So life, I'll take you one day, one hour at a time if I have to and make it all work as far as the temporal things go.

I needed a little cheer me up; so I Internet shopped. Oops :)

I never had a real diaper bag with Owen and always borrowed onesies and snacks from Kelsey or went home from church, haha. I also really want to get outside with Kent as that is when he is happiest, so I thought this highly praised carrier would be perfect for that and it was part of huge sale, so I snatched the last one up. Yea for me! Now I just need a new wardrobe and hair do and I'll be happier :) and maybe I'll really be happier if I do my visit teaching and scripture reading and date night. But that's a whole 'nother area of goals. Here's to immediate, fleeting happiness ;)

Can't end a post with out pictures of the sweetie pies that are growing so fast!

Joel just started sleeping in his crib for nap time. Owen hated, HaTeD being flat on his back, so this is big and cause for excitement!

Festivities

Kent had a terrific time on his hike and brought Owen back some snake rattles.
Baby Joel has literally gone from slim to round this week!

Quick trip to Washington for the Fourth. I stole all these pictures from my sister-in-law.

Fun with the petersons
