My Boys

So I would love to be an amazing, talented, organized person and have it show in some great posts, but no, I'm lucky to take random photos and record random descriptions. Note to self: take family of 4 photo, brother tshirt photo, visit photos, outdoor photos, parents with the boys photo, park photo, snazzy church clothes photo, etc. And stop taking fuzzy, dark Ipod photos!

I think these two look alike! So sweet. What will we do when Dad isn't at home with us! Kent has only two more weeks till his national licensure test and he is already applying to jobs in the area.
Owen is awesome. He has totally had to jump into the big brother role and learn patience, obedience and service double time. It's hard at times to not get a drink or the park or play a game right away but he entertains himself pretty good and helps out getting things or putting things away for me. He got a haircut from Dad this week as he kept sporting crazy do's every morning.

Joel is chunking up! He's gotta be about 9 lbs now. He still projectile vomits every other night but it doesn't seem to phase him and he eats and sleeps well.

Just love his precious round head of hair! Three weeks old and loves to be swaddled for naps and bedtime. I was thinking how scared I was of Owen and his cries; but with Joel, he just cries when he needs something or needs the occasional cuddle. He's a sweetheart. Hope he doesn't grow into an upset stomach or dislike of his bed. We will see.

Family visits

The week started off with a fun visit from Gma and Gpa Stringham on Saturday. Owen made up his own balloon game for everyone to play and talked our ears off! Then we went to the park to fly the kite and throw the ball to Clyde. After some fishing at the nearby pond, kent and his mom made a fab dinner and the boys tried on their new outfits.
On to the rest of the week.
We have a good routine of cuddling in the morning while daddy studies in the office. Owen gets in Joel's face but that's probably how it's always going to be!
Wednesday morning was not fun as Joel had to get his blood drawn(PKU) and his circumcision, yikes! Poor guy learned he could scream with those lungs of his. More cuddling needed. But then back to work for mom and dad in the afternoons. Oh, Tuesday, Kelsey came to visit with her boys and that was a super fun distraction. Then my mom and Katelin arrived Thursday night. Mom couldn't wait to see Joel and he loves Grandmas cuddles!

Grandma Barnes loves to give the grand kids their first bath and Joel quieted right down once she held him in the warm water. Owen was a big boy helper who thought it was great.

Settling in at Home

After staying two nights in the hospital, Joel received a clean bill of health and we left for home. He lost only six percent of his weight and I was determined to keep his weight increasing. Joel has been a good eater and sleeper for a newborn and has had several alert periods that we have all enjoyed.
Kent is smitten and loves to hold Joel and talk about how perfect he is. Kent changed diapers and burped Joel right from the beginning. He has been super helpful an patient with Owen and I.
Owen loves to hold Joel's foot and sit by me while nursing. He often says how cute Joel is!
The last day of the week Owen had a temperature and became easily upset and growled at me several times for not understanding him. A combination of feeling yucky and put off with being told to wait, especially when I'm nursing Joel.
We had great visits from Kelsey and my youngest sisters as well as our neighbor Lynsie and Kamilla. Joel's appointment with the pediatrician on Wednesday went very well and he is at 8 lbs. with an appointment next week.
