B & B

So the stars aligned and four family members had work off so we headed up to Dixie for a two and a half day trip to cram in Boating and a Baby Shower!! The drive was a breeze as Kent and I talked and Owen played with Clyde who nevers whines, actually neither really do. It is a three and a half hour drive and we made it to Washington by noon. Kent's family were all waiting and ready for us to hop in and go boating! The wind was whipping as you can see but it died down and the water wasn't too bad.

Owen seemed a little nervous and just wanted to stay in the boat being held by whom ever would. He wriggled out of the life jacket until we tightened it up real well.

Kent's sister Katy (Eric was at work and my sister-in-law, Kami, is in Utah; we missed them!)

Grandma Teresa with Owen. Kent's whole family loves the water but especially his mom, she swam with Kent after tubing even though it was cold and no one else wanted to.

Owen was the official flag waver whenever someone was down.

Which . Happened. Alot.

Actually Owen loves sticks and he calls them "gicks."

My father-in-law convinced me that I just had to go on the tube and I only went because I got a promise out of him that he wouldn't flip me out of the tube :) But I was still so nervous, I didn't want to hurt myself or pop my contacts out or choke on water...I'm a real dare-devil type. Kent was even saying how he didn't want to hurt himself, guess havin a family and responsibility mellows you out and all.

But I totally hammed it up screaming the whole time and asking Katy which way to turn so I wouldn't fall off. I refused to jump out when our turn was over, so the boys hauled me in from the tube, haha.

Bec and I kept saying how fun it was that the brothers were on the tube and that they are so close in age and do stuff together all the time. Then Kent kept giving the thumbs up and Kraig gave the thumbs down and they.........................

Biffed it!!! Then Katy and Kraig went and Katy landed on Kraig and bruised her back and Kraig ripped his shoulder bad and they were whining. And Teresa was saying Bryant was a meanie and Bryant was saying he only went 30 and everyone was talking all at once and then, then Kent MADE me go with him and I thought this is it, Kent's gonna kick me in the head when we flip and I don't even know why I am on here! haha

The dramatic anticipation!

It was fine and we flipped but I hung on to the tube and didn't pop my contacts out and didn't get kicked and the water was warm and after it all it was kinda sorta maybe fun. Bec and Kraig are having a baby girl next month so we all got together at her mom's house and they made delicious food and I did the invites, decorations and games and I think she was happy.

She got the cutest stuff and in this pic she is holding little red booties her cousin crocheted. Owen was the helper playing with everything. We are so excited for them and little Lily May to get here!

Weekend Drive ~ Perfect!

We drove to a new part of the valley; Weiser-Robinson's Creek.
Owen loved all the animals: cows, horses, birds, and DEER! He kept saying moo, moo. Hi horseys! Come mere! And of course he loved the ice cream!

Happy Happenings

Okay, so a month ago, Kelsey and I went to Savers which is a glorified DI. We found some cute stuff to put in our house and to try a few craft projects. I went back and found some candlesticks to use as pedestals and then typed in craft project with pedestals because Kamilla, Kelsey and I have been having a girl's craft day every so often. Well let me tell you I got some great ideas and it looked like people were really digging the pedestal displays. long story short I listed a few things on etsy and bam! they sold. I thought hey I could really do this. So I sarted spray painting old things and Kelsey made me this cool banner. voila! It has been so validating seeing stuff sell after trying to sell lampwork bracelets on etsy two years ago, thats where I got the name of the shop, i couldn't change it, and i don't even really know what it means, haha. So I haven't crunched the numbers recently, but after buying tons of paint, bubble wrap and boxes as well as inventory, I think I am doing okay! I have sold over twenty orders in 4 weeks! Yay! Mostly people want jars and frames for thier wedding so I am going to focus soley on that. I have had three custom orders and that has been kinda fun, especially the sand wedding vow request. the bride and groom each will pour sand from thier jars into one big jar or something like that ;)

Can you say huge contrast to the beautiful and powerful wedding covenants in the temple! Kent's baby sister was married in the Columbia River temple to Eric on Saturday.

I was determined to focus on the words of the sealer and apply them to myself. He talked alot of the endowment and the blessings of eternity. He also said when couples argue they should stop and say "you are right" to each other. Kent and I both picked up on that and even though we say it a little facetiously to each other it really does help stop further commenting. Owen was a trooper in the hot sun and he looked so cute but of course I left my camera at the house. ugh! Some day I will get pictures from Katy.

We brought home a flat of Washington Klicker's strawberries that are seriously so sweet that they call them sugar berries. I made freezer jam with Owen yesterday. He loves strawberries and these are big 4 cup jars that will last and I am so excited to give some to the Barnes' cause they ate it like candy last year ;)
